A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Anna-Marie Bothe

Principal

This is our last newsletter for 2025! Thank you to all members of our school community, church and wider region who have contributed to making this such a successful year for St Paul’s.

New Playground Update

In the two days after students finish school this term, work will begin on removing our old softfall surface and current playground equipment, as well as the concreting of our new handball court (where the current one is near classrooms). Moduplay, the company creating and installing our new playground, are now going to begin work on 23 February in Weeks 4, 5 and 6 of Term 1, which is later than had communicated to families earlier this term. This change of timing was unavoidable for Moduplay. When Term 1 begins, all other play areas will be open to students – our multipurpose court, COLA, old handball court, oval, sandpit and garden. We are so fortunate to have such a range of play areas to use while our new playground is being installed and can’t wait to play on it as well!

mainly music thank you!

Our music program for 0-5 year olds, mainly music, has concluded for 2025 and we are so grateful to Breanna Bissett for overseeing the program this year with the assistance of many people including volunteers from St Paul’s Lutheran Church. Our group has grown throughout the year, giving families and children the opportunity to build relationships, have musical fun together and benefit from Christian messages. What a great year it’s been!

End of the 2025 School Year

We look forward to our end of year events – Year 6 Graduation Dinner and Year 6 Day Out, Water Fun Day and Graduation and Awards Service. School reports and my end of year letter to families will go home next week, containing information about 2026. We pray that everyone has a blessed Christmas and safe holiday break.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

CHRISTINE'S

CORNER

We have nearly reached the end of the school year and what a wonderful year it has been! As I think back on the year that has been, I am reminded of all the activities and events that have taken place – school camps, sporting events, chapels, Fantastic Mr Fox, Henty Field Days, PBL Showcases and Kinder Transitions are just a few. But none of these activities would have happened without dedicated staff, wonderful students and amazing parents. Thank you to everyone involved in making St Paul’s the fantastic school it is. We look forward to celebrating with the Year 6 students in various ways as they prepare to leave primary school.

As you may be aware, Henty Swimming Pool has been closed until further notice meaning our Pool Party for next Wednesday may need to be cancelled. If this is the case, we will still have water activities at school. All students will need to bring a swimming bag with swimmers, rashie, towel and footwear that can get wet no matter which activity happens on Wednesday.

Just a few reminders for the end of the year –

  • Please ensure all readers, library books etc have been returned to school.
  • Please check the lost property for anything that may belong to your family

Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas and a safe holiday, especially for those who are travelling. We look forward to seeing everyone return in 2026, ready for another wonderful year!

God bless,

Christine

Just a friendly reminder that students need a HAT everyday!

Thank you.

MRS BIAR'S CLASS

Last Friday the K-2 class had a wonderful time on their excursion! First we visited MAMA (Murray Arts Museum Albury) for a guided tour and a drawing session. Then we enjoyed lunch and a play at Sumsion Gardens, Wodonga before heading to Bounce for lots of bouncing and jumping! Special thanks goes to Breanna Bisset for assisting with driving and playing Dodge Ball at Bounce!

I think the photos below speak for themselves!

On Wednesday we enjoyed our last Kinder Transition for this year with the theme of Pirates. We all enjoyed making pirate hats, playing Guess Who with pirates and the highlight was a Treasure Hunt around the school!

I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and a relaxing break from school routines. See you all in 2026!

Christine

MRS BASSETT'S CLASS

We have had fun during the 3/4 class transition for 2026! We enjoyed making snow, Christmas cards, baubles, and reindeer snack mix! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas celebrating the greatest gift of all—Jesus!

Christmas Blessings,

Mrs Bassett

MISS H'S CLASS

This year, we introduced our school values: We are Compassionate, We are Adventurous, We are Relational, and We are Empowered. Together with our Learner Profile, we explored how these values can be lived out in the classroom and in our interactions with one another, creating a positive and successful learning environment for all.

The celebrations of graduation have begun for Year 6, leading chapel for the last time two weeks ago, enjoying dinner together with their parents/carers and staff on Wednesday night, continuing on Friday at Laser Tag and Oasis in Wagga and culminating in the Graduation and Awards Service next week. You have all been a blessing to St Paul’s, whether it has been for a long time or a short time, and I wish you all the very best as you begin your high school journey.

May you all enjoy a safe and blessed Christmas with loved ones.

Blessings,

Felicity

SRC ACTIVITIES

BERNIE O'CONNOR CARNIVAL

What a great day students in years 3-6 had last Friday at the annual Bernie O’Connor Football/Netball carnival hosted by Yerong Creek Public School.

Congratulations to our students for showing great sportsmanship and participation throughout the day, and enjoying the opportunity to combine with students from St Joseph’s Culcairn and St Patrick’s Holbrook, displaying our values of being adventurous and relational.

Thank you to Tim (and Simeon), Matt and Jordan, Megan and Emily for coaching/managing our teams on the day.

Special congratulations to our Junior football team for winning the final, and remaining undefeated for the day.

P&F UPDATE

Well the Year of the Big Shed came, we saw it and we conquered it! The 2024 HMFD was a huge success. We had 150 shift spaces to fill and we did it! Thank you to all our families & friends who pitched in over the event. We needed your support and you didn't let us down.

Thanks to our combined effort we raised over $50,000!!

The P&F have decided to contribute $50,000 to be put towards a new playground and outdoor learning space at school, a place current and future students will be able to enjoy for many years to come.

Our first event in 2025 will be our annual Welcome BBQ to be held on Sunday 2nd February. This is always a great day to catch up after the summer break. More details to come in the New Year.
