TERM 2
WEEK 5
WEEK 5
Anna-Marie Bothe
Principal
Welcome back for another amazing term of school at St Paul’s! Spring has well and truly sprung, as has the hay fever. While we are enjoying the warmer weather for outdoor play and learning, we also pray for much needed rain.
This term, we are focusing on our School Value of “We are Empowered”. The poster below outlines what this means to St Paul’s from a spiritual and educational perspective. Ensuring that our students have a voice and collaborating with others as a community to make a positive impact, are important parts of our school life. Please take some time to see, on the poster below, the elements of our Staff and Learner Profiles that link beautifully to this School Value,
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13
We have collated feedback on our new playground design and are very close to completing our final design so construction can take place over the summer holidays and start of Term 1 2026. I hope you have a blessed Term 4!

Well done to Simeon, Mahliq and Sasha, who represented St Paul’s on Tuesday at the Lion’s Spelling Bee, held at the Public School. Along with St Paul’s, there were students from Henty Public, Culcairn Public, St Joseph’s Culcairn and Pleasant Hills. Sasha came a very close third – only 2 points behind the winner! All students did their very best and should be proud of their efforts. Here are some of the words they had to spell – prehistoric, appreciation, doubtfully, permanently. How would you go?
Welcome back to school routines. With the beginning of term has come the warmer weather. Please ensure all students have their hats at school every day.
Congratulations to our SRC representatives for Term 4 – Simeon, Eli, Mahliq, Neve, Sasha, Ryan, Meg, Wyatt, Ty, Bella and Shylowe. I’m sure you will all have some great ideas to help make St Paul’s even better!
This Friday we will be participating in Breast Cancer Awareness Day. The staff will be making cupcakes for the students to purchase for the cost of a gold coin. All funds raised will be going directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. All staff and students are encouraged to wear at least a splash of pink (casual clothes). Please note that shirts need to have sleeves and students need to wear appropriate footwear for school.
On Saturday, Miss Ridley will be getting married! We wish her and Will a lifetime of happiness, and we look forward to seeing some photos after the wedding. God’s richest blessings!

Just a friendly reminder that students need a HAT everyday!
Thank you.

Another year of Christmas boxes have been delivered for Operation Christmas Child. Together we were able to contribute 24 boxes to be shipped all around the world to bless children who may not otherwise have had an opportunity to experience the joy of opening a gift on Christmas morning. We pray that they will not only open their present but open their hearts to the good news of our Saviour!
Thankyou to the P&F for covering the cost of postage for all our boxes.
I wonder where they will end up this year?!

It has been wonderful to see everyone’s smiling faces again! I am looking forward to all the many activities which will be happening this term.
Last week, the K-3 class enjoyed the following challenge – Using only one piece of paper and your glue stick, who can make the longest paper chain? We had a good discussion about what may help us to make the longest chain, and then the students were off creating their own chain!
This week our challenge was to make a straw rocket, using our learnt knowledge of forces.
We had a great time on Wednesday with our next Kinder Transition session. Our theme was Humpty Dumpty and we had lots of fun making and acting as Humpty Dumpty. Don’t worry – none of us hurt ourselves in the process!

On our first day back this term, Year 3&4 learnt about the Japanese numeral system. We had a lot of fun practising Japanese numbers and challenged ourselves at a matching up game! Students showed curiosity and perseverance during the lesson.
Blessings,
Miss Ridley

Welcome back for term 4! It is sure to be a busy one, with lots of activities (particularly for our graduating Year 6 students).
Our theme in English this term is ‘Being Brave’ and we have read some books which focus on the involvement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in World War 1 and 2.
Students have been working hard on their division skills in Maths, recording remainders as fractions and decimals (to tenths and hundredths).
4/5/6 have enjoyed getting active in Creative Arts and having a go at a range of dances.
Blessings,
Felicity

What a great day students in years 3-6 had last Friday at the annual Bernie O’Connor Football/Netball carnival hosted by Yerong Creek Public School.
Congratulations to our students for showing great sportsmanship and participation throughout the day, and enjoying the opportunity to combine with students from St Joseph’s Culcairn and St Patrick’s Holbrook, displaying our values of being adventurous and relational.
Thank you to Tim (and Simeon), Matt and Jordan, Megan and Emily for coaching/managing our teams on the day.
Special congratulations to our Junior football team for winning the final, and remaining undefeated for the day.

Well the Year of the Big Shed came, we saw it and we conquered it! The 2024 HMFD was a huge success. We had 150 shift spaces to fill and we did it! Thank you to all our families & friends who pitched in over the event. We needed your support and you didn't let us down.
Thanks to our combined effort we raised over $50,000!!
The P&F have decided to contribute $50,000 to be put towards a new playground and outdoor learning space at school, a place current and future students will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
Our first event in 2025 will be our annual Welcome BBQ to be held on Sunday 2nd February. This is always a great day to catch up after the summer break. More details to come in the New Year.
