A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Anna- Marie Bothe Principal

As we approach the last week of Term 3 and the Henty Machinery Field Days, gratitude for our school’s incredible P&F is at the forefront of my mind! One of the many benefits of being a small but mighty school is our supportive community of parents and friends who go above and beyond. Initiatives our P&F have supported and funded over the last year and a half include:

This term, our focus school value has been “We are Empowered”. Every year, current and former families and supporters of St Paul’s come together to volunteer at our food shed at the Field Days to raise significantly high funds to put towards projects at our school for the benefit of our students. Everyone’s passion for what’s best for our school and our community empowers us to work together, connect with each other and generously give time and energy.

On behalf of our school community, THANK YOU to our wonderful P&F!

Father’s Day Breakfast and Chapel

What a wonderful morning was spent celebrating our fantastic fathers and father-like figures in our lives! It is always lovely to see how many of our school community come together for these occasions. Thank you to the breakfast cookers and to the dads who were willing to be involved in the activities during Chapel!

EE Media

EE Media have completed the videoing they need to do for our marketing reels. Thank you to all the parents who agreed to do parent testimonials. These messages will really share the positive message about our amazing school. Well done to all the students who demonstrated spontaneity and adaptability during the filming. Your positive attitude and ability to respond confidently to changing situations were amazing.We can’t wait to see the end results!

R U OK Day

Last week we celebrated R U OK Day. It was a great time to focus on how we care for our friends in a very practical way.

Students return to school for Term 4 on Tuesday 13th October.

Henty Machinery Field Days:

The rosters and passes have been distributed to all parents/ families who have volunteered to help on our stall for the Field Days. Thank you to all those who are able to help the school in this way. We are always blown away by your willingness and support.

Please ensure you bring your pass with you on the day you are volunteering, as we will not be able to replace lost or forgotten passes.

Also, a reminder that on Wednesday (23rd September) there will be NO BAKERY ORDERS.

Just a friendly reminder that students need a HAT everyday!

MRS BIAR'S CLASS

The K-3 have continued to enjoy using the Bee Bots. We made paths for the Bee Bots and the students devised the algorithm to allow the Bee Bot to travel through the path. Some persistence and resilience was needed for this activity, but then a great deal of satisfaction was also experienced when the Bee Bot ended up at the end of the path correctly!

The K-2 cohort enjoyed another visit to the Henty library this week. With the theme of art, they listened to stories and then created a paint palette art work. We then borrowed library books to read in the classroom.

This week we welcomed Kinder 2027 students to St Paul’s for our first Kinder Transition session. We enjoyed the theme of colours and read books and did some colourful activities. We are all looking forward to more Kinder Transition sessions next term.

I hope you all enjoy your holiday break and I look forward to seeing you all back for Term 4!

MRS BASSETT'S CLASS

This week in Maths, students have been designing a 2,000-seat junior sports stadium. They have applied maths skills including multiplication and division strategies as they designed a stadium with the correct dimensions for their chosen sport. They have explored different ways to arrange seating, combining mathematical thinking with creative problem-solving.

MISS H'S CLASS

It has been wonderful for students to have the opportunity to learn two new and exciting sports this term: European handball and badminton. Throughout these sessions, students have developed a range of new skills, improved their coordination and game strategies, and demonstrated great enthusiasm when taking on new challenges. Just as importantly, they have strengthened their teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship skills while supporting and encouraging one another. It has been fantastic to see students growing in confidence and enjoying the experience of learning something new.

We are very grateful for the Sporting Schools grant that we received this term, enabling us to buy the equipment for badminton suitable for all ages.

SRC - SPOTLIGHT

Leadership Activity – Cooking

This term we are making delicious sausage rolls, as well as cupcakes for our trivia afternoon.

Upcoming Events

Next Friday we are running a trivia afternoon with food, drinks and even cupcakes. We are also holding a casual clothes day of sports colours.

SPORTS REPORT

Leadership Activity – Soccer

Gabe and James were the leaders of the soccer competition throughout this term. There were 4 teams and the grand final was on Monday – with Ty, Michael, Samson, Connor and Liam being the winning team. It was great and everyone enjoyed it.

CIS Athletics (James)

James competed at the CIS Athletics Championships on 4th September. He came 11th out of 27 in his discus event (throwing 20.56m)  and represented us very well. He came 2nd out of the people who went from RAS.

P&F UPDATE

The P&F have already had a busy year and there is MUCH more to come! Thank you to those who attended the meeting on the 4th August, 7pm at St Pauls. Keep an eye out for the minutes for those who couldn't make it.

Our main fundraiser for the year is less than two months away - so all things Henty Machinery Field Days are about to happen. Keep an eye out for roster requests in the next few weeks, and make sure you keep some time free to come join in at the food shed. Start teeing up friends and family too, and don't feel shy to tell them it's the shed with the best food and the best people to work with! Field Days runs from 22-24 September.
