A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Anna-Marie Bothe

Principal

St Paul’s has been a hive of activity as we prepare for our School Production on Thursday 28 August with the Matinee at 11:00am and the Evening Performance at 6:30pm at the Henty Community Club. Tickets are on sale through our school office. Thank you so much to our parent volunteers for making props and set decorations and especially to Felicity Habermann for leading the organisation and preparations!

Perspectives Survey

Thank you to all parents who have completed this survey which closes on Wednesday 20 August. Your responses will provide essential feedback to help inform our decision-making at St Paul’s, so the more data we gather, the better!

Masterplan Process

Our second Masterplan session with Garry Mitchell and a range of representatives of stakeholder groups in our school community involved discussion of a range of ideas put forward at the first session. From these ideas, a first draft plan will be drawn up. Our school families will be given the opportunity to provide feedback on draft plans for our school grounds and facilities. The plans will mainly focus on our outdoor areas and administration building, as we are already so blessed with such a range of facilities at St Paul’s. Having a Masterplan provides a guide for future developments so that, as we begin work on one element of it, we know that it links with plans for other areas of the school. Any resulting action from the Masterplan will be done in careful consideration of budget, priority of needs and timing.

New Playground

Our staff and students’ ideas have been sent to our Moduplay designer who is creating a first draft design. We will also eventually be seeking feedback on the design from school families. The main elements our students want relate to risky and adventurous play and we can’t wait to see what the designer comes up with!

The common theme in all of these school initiatives is that we are relational – our school value focus for Term 3. Thank you for the contributions you all make towards our thriving school culture.

CHRISTINE'S

CORNER

Preparations for Fantastic Mr Fox are well underway! Lines and stage directions are being learnt. Props are being made and painted. Thank you to the school parents who are helping with this task. Excitement is building! We look forward to seeing it all come together next Thursday!

Purchase your tickets at the school office.

As winter ends, the sun is certainly making an appearance. Hats need to be returning to school, please. We are walking to the Club for our first rehearsal this Friday and I would appreciate all students having their school hats, please.

Thanks to all who helped make Book Week and the Parade successful last week. The students always enjoy a time to dress up! In case you had your eye on some books, the online portal is still available until tomorrow.

Our PBL Showcase will take the place of an art exhibition. This will be happening on Monday September 15th after the mainly music session (approximately 10.30am). Stay tuned for further details!

Just a friendly reminder that students need a HAT everyday!

Thank you.

Our school is using the Perspectives: Your school in focus suite of surveys developed by AISNSW to support our school improvement endeavours. The information gathered will assist in furthering the growth and development of our school community. We will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

These surveys have been specifically designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of stakeholders’ perceptions of five important areas: School Environment, Teaching and Learning, Student Wellbeing, Leadership and Community. All staff, students (Years 5 & 6 only), parents/guardians, leaders and board members will be invited to participate.

The surveys will be available from 4th August to 17th August and are conducted online, taking approximately 15 minutes to complete. The survey link will be distributed via email to all from ‘evidence@aisnsw.edu.au’ on behalf of the school.

Your input and contribution are important to the success of our continuous school improvement process as we aspire to improve the learning experience for everyone at our school.

For any enquiries about the surveys please contact the school for more details.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING

Our Project Based Learning this term has taken a different direction. Small groups of students have been designing and creating different artworks based on a common theme. This has allowed students to work on this project when they are not involved in rehearsals and will culminate in an art exhibition on September 15th.

MISS RIDLEY'S CLASS

This term in Project-Based Learning, our driving question is:

How can I, as an artist, create a collection using different art forms for an exhibition that helps give mainly music students a sense of belonging at St Paul’s?

We have been exploring different art forms and experimenting with drawing, painting, sculpture, and print making.

Blessings,

Miss Ridley

SCHOOL PRODUCTION - FANTASTIC MR FOX

Fantastic Mr Fox is falling into place! The students have been working hard learning their lines and rehearsing scenes. Costumes, props, set decorations and rehearsals are taking shape with the help and creativity of staff, parents and our school community.

BOOK PARADE

What a colourful cast of characters we had at the Book Parade. How many do you recognise?

Did you spot Mr McGregor, Mr & Mrs Twit, an underpant loving Dinosaur, a Gangster Granny or perhaps the dreaded Miss Trunchbull?

P&F UPDATE

Well the Year of the Big Shed came, we saw it and we conquered it! The 2024 HMFD was a huge success. We had 150 shift spaces to fill and we did it! Thank you to all our families & friends who pitched in over the event. We needed your support and you didn't let us down.

Thanks to our combined effort we raised over $50,000!!

The P&F have decided to contribute $50,000 to be put towards a new playground and outdoor learning space at school, a place current and future students will be able to enjoy for many years to come.

Our first event in 2025 will be our annual Welcome BBQ to be held on Sunday 2nd February. This is always a great day to catch up after the summer break. More details to come in the New Year.
