A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Anna-Marie Bothe

Principal

As we emailed all families on Monday this week, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Vodeen Graetz who passed away last week. Please refer to the email for information about Vodeen’s Memorial Service. We thank God for the wonderful blessing she was to so many in our school community.

New School Values

We are so excited to launch the posters of our new school values! They will be displayed in each classroom and on our school website. We are going to have a lot of fun coming up with creative ways to embed our values in daily school life so that everyone knows what they are and how we live them out.

We are already focusing on one value each term this year in our Chapel themes. Our staff worked with Maree Svanberg of Mad Mouse Design to come up with these amazing images that represent what these values mean to our unique school community, how they connect to our local surroundings and how they link to each value’s Bible verse.

I was extremely fortunate to be able to join the Year 3 and 4 students on their camp to Borambola on Monday and Tuesday. It was a wonderful couple of days and I am so proud of the way the students conducted themselves and represented St Paul’s.

The value that we are focussing on this term is being adventurous and they were all examples of this value in action. Whether it was trying rock climbing for the first time, improving BMX skills over the jumps or just coping with being away from home, all students were able to extend and challenge themselves in ways that they probably didn’t realise they were capable of.

They should all be proud of their accomplishments during camp. Well done! We wish the Year 5s and 6s all the best for their camp next week. We encourage them to also be adventurous, try new experiences and make the most of the opportunities they are presented with.

SCHOOLS CUP NETBALL

Our 3/4 & 5/6 classes had a fantastic day in Albury participating in the Netball NSW Schools Cup. Thank you to our families and volunteer umpires. Students left the court smiling and proud of their efforts! The day was a great opportunity for team building as well as fun outside the classroom.

We were fortunate to receive a Sporting Schools grant in Term 1 which allowed us to give students the opportunity to take part in 8 sessions of tennis coaching. Throughout the lessons, students participated in skill-based activities and games. It has been great to see their growth in their tennis skills over the past 8 weeks.

Thank you to Brock and the Henty Park Tennis Club for making these lessons possible.

GRANDPARENT'S DAY

We had such a lovely morning spending time with our Grandparents!

The 2/3 class lead our special Grandparents Day Chapel on Tuesday which was followed by a picnic morning tea. We enjoyed playing games, reading to our grandparents and showing them around the school.

Thank you to all our grandparents and family for joining us!

3/4 CAMP

This week, the 3/4 class went to Borambola for camp. We participated in adventurous activities including rock climbing, orienteering, BMX riding and fencing. On the way home, we stopped for an ice-cream and play time at the Adventure Playground in Wagga. It was great to see all our students step outside their comfort zones and have a go at all activities! A big thank you to Matt Klemke for driving the bus for us!

P&F UPDATE

Well the Year of the Big Shed came, we saw it and we conquered it! The 2024 HMFD was a huge success. We had 150 shift spaces to fill and we did it! Thank you to all our families & friends who pitched in over the event. We needed your support and you didn't let us down.

Thanks to our combined effort we raised over $50,000!!

The P&F have decided to contribute $50,000 to be put towards a new playground and outdoor learning space at school, a place current and future students will be able to enjoy for many years to come.

Our first event in 2025 will be our annual Welcome BBQ to be held on Sunday 2nd February. This is always a great day to catch up after the summer break. More details to come in the New Year.
