TERM 2
WEEK 5
WEEK 5
Each of our new School Values is linked to a Bible verse and this one says it all. We are kind, compassionate and forgiving because that’s how Jesus is to us. Compassion is his love in action and we most certainly saw that at our Swimming Carnival last week! When our younger students needed help in their race, we had so many volunteers offer to be their buddy, swimming with them and constantly offering encouragement. What a compassionate school community we have!
Thank you, everyone.
Anna-Marie Bothe
Interim Principal
This term, our theme for Chapel is “We are Compassionate”.
Last year and this year, our staff have been working through the creation of new School Values statements, which we will be very excited to share soon! “We are Compassionate” is one of our new values. This is how we define being compassionate:
We believe compassion is at the forefront of our actions. We serve others with an empathetic heart.
Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Christine Biar
What an AMAZING day the Swimming Carnival was last Thursday! It displayed all our Learner Profile areas – perseverance, risk-taking, collaboration and empathy. I love the way that all students encourage each other along, no matter what team they are on. Well done to all students for trying their very best. The close score in the end shows how competitive it was!
Thank you to all parents for your contribution to the day – cheering, applying zinc cream, swimming in the parent race, cooking the BBQ and transporting your children. It was great to see so many parents attending.
We are very excited to begin some planning for a new playground/ outdoor learning area at St Paul’s. As part of this process, we are listening to our students. Last week they brainstormed all the items it would be fantastic to have included in a playground. This week the senior students have measured the outdoor areas in preparation for some designing and the juniors have drawn a map of the playground. We are looking forward to seeing their ideas and designs!
Just a reminder that the SRC are selling Zooper Doopers every Friday for 50c. What a great way to cool down a little on a hot day.
Just a friendly reminder that students need a HAT everyday!
Thank you.
What an amazing day we had last week for our Swimming Carnival! Congratulations to all students on a wonderful day of competition, best efforts and encouragement of one another.
Congratulations to Mundawadra on being the Champion House for 2025. It was a very close race throughout the entire day, and the closest possible margin – 1 point.
Congratulations also to our Age Champions:
Junior Girls – Bella
Junior Boys – Azariah
Senior Girls – Meg
Senior Boys – Simeon
This year we had one record broken:
Jude – boys 7 & under 25m freestyle with a time of 28.78 (beating a 23-year old record by 0.01 seconds) Well done!
Thank you to our extraordinary school community for coming along and supporting our students and helping out throughout the day.
To Kerri and the P&F – thank you for providing us with lunch and a treat at the end of the day. Thank you to all staff for doing their part to keep our day running smoothly. You are all greatly appreciated.

Have a great week,

All year levels are well back into InitiaLit lessons, revising and learn new things. The Year 2 students have started having grammar lessons and have learnt about common nouns, proper nouns and pronouns.
This Wednesday was the final Wednesday rest day for the Kinders, so next week they will be attending school every day. Imagine all the learning they will be able to do!
We loved the Swimming Carnival last week. Read all about it in our stories.
We have been looking at the importance of healthy and safe lifestyles in PDH this term and there was no better way to start than with an experiment!
We were investigating the importance of washing our hands in preventing the spread of germs. We did this by having a piece of bread that had been touched with unwashed hands and one with clean hands.
After a week, this was the result! Fair to say, we were all completely grossed out!
We have finally reached the juicy part of our novel, ‘The Detectives Guide to Ocean Travel’ with the Saffron Diamond disappearing. Students have been discussing their ‘suspects’ and have developed some great theories, while providing evidence to back it up.
In Maths we have been solving addition and subtraction problems, rounding numbers and investigating 24-hour time.
As part of our whole school PBL about designing a new playground/play spaces/outdoor learning areas, 4/5/6 spent time using tape measures and trundle wheels to measure our outdoor spaces. They recorded their findings on a map of the school in preparation for making plans and designs of what they could include and how they could be utilised to benefit all.
What a great day at the swimming carnival last week. It was amazing to see the efforts of the students. They should be very proud of themselves.
Year 6 are looking forward to spending time at Jindera on Friday for their Leadership Day and connecting with other students from Lutheran School Wagga, Victory and St John’s.
Blessings,
Felicity
We had such a lovely morning spending time with our Grandparents!
The 2/3 class lead our special Grandparents Day Chapel on Tuesday which was followed by a picnic morning tea. We enjoyed playing games, reading to our grandparents and showing them around the school.

Thanks to our combined effort we raised over $50,000!!
The P&F have decided to contribute $50,000 to be put towards a new playground and outdoor learning space at school, a place current and future students will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
Our first event in 2025 will be our annual Welcome BBQ to be held on Sunday 2nd February. This is always a great day to catch up after the summer break. More details to come in the New Year.
On Friday 1st of September, Years 3 to 6 went to Yerong Creek for the Bernie O’Connor Carnival. We played with St Joseph’s, Culcairn and St Patrick’s, Holbrook. It was a great day! The sun was shining, and everyone had lot’s of fun.
The 5/6 boys played footy and came 1st for the whole day. We played against The Rock and the score was 12 to 32. The 3-4 boys came 3rd in the whole day. Well done to the 5/6 and 3/4 girls playing netball who got runners up.
Well done to Ivan and Neve for playing with students they didn’t know.
Congratulations to Blake for winning the furthest kicking competition.
Thank you for the coaches and families who helped on the day.
